Beauty At Its Finest

I am not a fan of the term “ugly“. Yes, I am guilty for having said the word, just like everyone else. However, as I have gotten older, I do not see the need for such a word.

I don’t think I can look at a person and think he or she is ugly.  Honestly, I think that the majority of people have a good heart. I love observing people’s personalities.  And from my observations I have found that if one is truly a rude person, their pessimism shines through 90 percent of the time.

The personality reflects the beauty behind the physical. The quality of the human heart is more important than a pretty face and an empty head.

Haha, oh, goodness! Look at me throwing these cliches around. Forgive me, I just wanted to express my feelings on this subject. And for more expression, below is a video of my freinds and family and their opinons on beauty.  Enjoy. : )

Video Filming and Editing: Second Experience

This video was my second experiment with video filming and editing. I chose this topic on video-games because it’s a hobby my brother and his friends spend a lot of time with.  I used my parents, brother and, of course, my brother’s friends for the interviews.  In each clip I used the big mic and the camera stand.

When I edited the four clips, it was difficult to cut each of them down to make a 30 second movie. There was a lot more I wanted to include.  However, it was a good challenge!

My original idea was to film my brother demonstrating the technique of how to shoot a basketball. But it was raining all day, so video-games became my last minute alternative!  My goal for my original idea to use different angle perspectives for the shoot. For example, my ideas were:

  • First clip: My brother shooting the basketball into the hoop.
  • Second clip: Zoom the camera in on my brother’s hands; which would be demonstrating the position one’s hands should be on the ball before shooting.
  • Third clip: My brother demonstrating correct body technique  before shooting the ball.
  • Fourth clip: My brother shooting the ball again, in slow motion, so that the viewer could get a sense of the correct technique when shooting a basketball.  (Note: I would’ve used slow-motion effect).

This idea would have given me practice with filming at angles. This is something I plan to eventually educate myself on!

Video Filming & Editing: First Experience

Below is the first video clip I filmed and partially edited.  Uploading and editing this small clip was a breeze for me because I have worked with video editing before.   However, I was getting used to the video camera and stand, since I had not been in class to learn about the camera.

I figured out how to use the camera, mic and stand on my own! It took some experimenting, but I have always been good with technology.

The original video length of this clip was four minutes long. I watched the entire video a few tomes before editing it. Then I chose the best 30 second segment in the video that I liked the best and cut the rest out! Easy.

I chose to film my dog for this practice clip because he is entertaining and cute.  Plus, who doesn’t love animals! He was easy to film and wasn’t self-conscious in front of the camera.
